Now the preparatory work in acrylic has been done and I’m starting to paint over it with oil paint. This means that the details are better worked out and the picture gets its actual character. This is a wonderful way to achieve depth and expression in my artwork.
The combination of acrylic paints for preparatory work and oil paints for detailed work is a popular technique in painting. Oil paints allow for a slower drying time, allowing me to carefully work out the details and create layers to create depth and texture.
Stay tuned for my next post.
